Denmark

Denmark is one of the smallest countries in Europe with a population of approximately 5,5 million people. The country is well known for its flat topography and green and beautiful nature, which Danes themselves often explore by bike.

Denmark is a modern, safe and culturally rich welfare state and the inhabitants benefit from some of the highest living standards in the world. The Danes have been ranked the happiest people in the world several times, which might be explained by their free spirited, relaxed, and tolerant attitude towards life.

Denmark is hosting many internationally known companies, e.g. Lego and Maersk, and is also known for both traditional and innovative architecture and is the home to C.F Møller, Arkitema and MTHøjgaard symbolizing quality and Nordic aesthetics.

Odense

The third largest city in Denmark with approximately 200,000 inhabitants. Odense is located on the island Funen and is commonly known as the hometown of the famous fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.

With approximately 45,000 students, Odense has the largest number of students per capita in Denmark, which you will notice in the city’s atmosphere and pulse.

The city has many cosy cafés, nice bars and a vibrant nightlife with different clubs to choose from. Furthermore, Odense has a lovely city centre with shopping streets and restaurants.

The campus is situated fairly close to the city centre, and you can therefore explore this easily during your stay.

You can also visit the second largest shopping mall in Denmark, Rosengårdcentret. You can go there either by bike or bus.

Besides all of the above, Odense also hosts many festivals to celebrate, e.g. music, movies and art.
